First of all, let me start off by saying "Happy Thanksgiving, Happy Birthday Joy, Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!" I know I haven't been very good at this whole blogging thing (which I knew would happen, b/c that's just the way I am), but today was such a BIG day I had to tell everyone about it!! Today was.......drum roll please......
MIA'S 1st DAY OF SCHOOL!!!!!!!!
As some of you may already know, I have been trying to get Mia into school for a few months now. I looked at a few a while back, but then stop b/c I decided to wait until she turned 3. Soon after she turned 3, I started looking again, making phone calls, etc. etc. But NO LUCK! Then finally on Dec. 18, I called 2 schools. One that I thought I really wanted her to go to, (mainly b/c my friends Sharon and Stephanie sent their sons there) and another one that my parents had heard about. I called the 1st one looking to see if there was availability in January and she very rudely said "No!" Ok...so on to the next school. I left a message on their machine requesting some information on their school and on Dec. 19, got a call from Ms. Broadway from Holy Cross Preschool Learning Center saying there IS an opening in January!!!!! We registered Miss Mia this past Monday and that brings us to TODAY!!!!!..........
Here she is packing her "snack."
Yummy cookies with hearts on them, sliced apples and an orange juice.
Her school colors are red and yellow. She's not required to wear them, but I guess the cheerleader in me figured it would show good school spirit to wear your colors, at least on the first day.
Mia and Mommy loading up. She kept asking, "Are we there yet? NOW are we there yet?" Thank goodness the school is only 5 minutes away.
Daddy's little girl. "Thumbs up!"
Mia was so excited she marched right up to the school, down the walkway and right to her teacher! She saw her and started yelling "Ms. Fountain, Ms. Fountain!"
That's Ms. Fountain. When she saw Mia she said, "Hi Mia, why don't you give you mom and dad a hug and kiss!" And what did Mia do? SHE KISSED MS. FOUNTAIN! Then she turned around gave me and daddy kisses and walked right into the room!!!!
And this was the last we saw of her. She didn't even look back!!! Such a big girl =) And yes, she IS picking her butt! LOL...either that or she's pulling up her pants b/c they were a little big =)
After a whole 4 hours, my mom and I picked her up where we were told nothing but amazing things about Miss Mia! She even got the "GOOD LISTENER AWARD!"
Brandon and I couldn't have asked for a more perfect 1st day of school!
P.S. For those of you wondering, I did get a little teary eyed by her classroom, but only b/c I was so happy. I cried a little more when I got in the car, b/c I realized she is such a big girl now and Brandon and I are SO totally proud of her!
