Mia's Bedtime Prayer 11/6/08
Based on a true story....every night (well, almost every night) Mia and I get into bed and say our bedtime prayers. It usually starts off the same way, "Jesus we'd like to pray for....." and then we insert names of family and friends. Well last night's prayer was so funny I had to share it with you all. Now, let us all bow our heads and pray....
Mia began with....
"In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit, Amen....
Jesus, we'd like to pray for Taylor, Chancey, Rev Dog, Sadie, what's that dog's name again? Ummm, Ripley and Maxine, what's the dog again? Oh, Honey Val, Sadie, Ripley and Maxine, Tony, Crippy, and Mya."
I then said...
Do you want to pray for anyone else? And she said "NO!" And I continued with "How about Daddy, Mommy and Mia?" And she said "Ok, I'd like to pray for you, daddy and me" And I said, well we prayed for Chancey (Will and Amy's old dog) should we pray for Uncle Will, and Aunt Amy?" and she said "No just Taylor and Uncle Will's son" Ooook....I then said, how about your Nanas and Papas (since we prayed for Rev Dog and Honey Val) and she at least agreed to pray for them =)
She then said she just wanted to pray for everyone's dogs, but in the end we ended it our usual way with, "We'd like to pray for all of our family and friends, and we pray that they are healthy, happy and safe. In the name of the Father, and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, Amen"
Please know that we pray for all our family and friends every night but on this particular night, Taylor (her cousin) and ALL the family dogs were especially thought of =)
